President’s Message

I have been a resident of Las Vegas since 1977. I was 9 years old when we moved here so I have seen the growth of the valley. I graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with a degree in Accounting. I am happily married to Arthur and a proud parent of 2 children, Jared (26 yrs. old) and Jason (24 yrs. old). Being involved with several organizations throughout the years have been such a pleasure.

I was the Treasurer for the Young Filipino American Professionals Association for several years. In 2003 after yearning to learn more about my heritage, I joined Filipiniana Dance Company of Las Vegas. Their mission is to educate, share and promote the Filipino Heritage through Folk dancing. In 2009 I became the President of Filipiniana Dance Company of Las Vegas. I was also active in the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce in which I was awarded a Special Recognition for my years of community service by the Chamber.

I have held several positions with the National Federation of Filipino American Association Nevada (NaFFAA) throughout the years. Along with Martin Celemin as Region Chair, I was his Region Treasurer. With Leo Belmonte as Region Chair, I was his Executive Director for the Region. In addition, I also served as a Board of Director under Cynthia Deriquito when she was State Chair. Currently, I am the newly elected NaFFAA State Chair for Nevada. I have the passion for community service and the desire to serve with the hope in making our Las Vegas Filipino American community a “Community of One’.
